processing steps once you submit your application: |
- you can e-sign your application using
the online application or phone application
this allows faster processing of
your application without the paperwork
and physical signatures

- a consolidating specialist may need
to contact you to verify your loan information
make sure you leave a valid phone
number or email address
|
- an electronic copy of your application
will be sent to your email address for
your records make sure you contact
your consolidator if you need to make
revisions
|
- your consolidator will then certify
your information with your lenders and
schools (to verify that the loan information
is correct)
|
- once your loan information has been
certified, your consolidator will then
work with designated lender who will underwrite
your loan
|
- you will receive notification from your
consolidator and lender that your loans
have been consolidated with information
on your new loan and payment terms
|
- you should continue to make all of your
regular payments on the loans that you
consolidated until you receive your new
Loan Consolidation Disclosure Statement
and Repayment Schedule from your new loan
servicer

- the entire process can take about 2-3
weeks
